There was always the possibility that this story would leak, and had it done so a year ago we would no doubt have already forgotten most of the details and almost certainly who the main protagonists were.
However, that is no longer the case as we are now in the era of super injunctions and so as I retell the tale I can only apologise for the lack of certain key details, which ironically will mean that the story may run and run, with the actual facts being lost, as people simply "make up" the missing details, and surmise (often incorrectly) who was actually involved.
Sadly, were I to reveal the identities of these two young "royals" there would be those that, somewhat ironically, would be calling for my head!
Whilst having walked along all of the South Downs in recent months and climbed to many of its high vantage points, I don't actually know exactly where the incident took place, but what I do know is that it involved #### and ####.
Some you would also know that whilst #### I s a landowner, any connection with Crown Estates and the South Downs was broken on 1 April 2011, when the South Downs officially became a National Park. (see previous posting "Trailwalker UK - a walk in the park").
As we all know, or all would know if I could actually name ####, he is a young man with very "Royal" connections.
#### also moves in similar circles, although it was rumoured that she was recently spending more of her time exploring business opportunities in professional 'cake making', thinking that there was great potential here. (Apparently she was planning to use the strap line "...let them eat cake!" in the UK, replacing this with "...Qu'ils mangent de la brioche!" for the French market).
Exactly what #### was doing with #### before the incident occurred one can only conjecture, although reports that the incident itself was not alcohol related or "fuelled" have to be questioned, especially given the fact that both #### and #### have previously led most of their lives in the fast lane.
Whether there was third party involvement is also unclear, but there is no reference to any such other person within the super injunction.
What we do know is that #### somehow fell, or was pushed, from a high point in the area. What then happened is less clear. Stories differ as to whether #### also fell; jumped; was pushed; or simply ran down to tend to #### and his injuries!
By the time the emergency services arrived, both #### and #### had left the scene. No A&E was visited by the pair, possibly to avoid the prospect of any waiting paparazzi, and it is assumed that ####, (or possibly ####) tended to his own injuries.
Those that have seen him out in public recently, not unsurprisingly without ####, state that it is clear that #### has not had any previous medical training, and that whatever he had used to "...tend his head wound" must have been fairly primitive as it had left a very nasty scar and that he looked very "...pale". Allegedly, (isn't everything?) #### spent several days in bed after the "incident", but not with ####!
Very bizarrely, it has also been reported by an unnamed (no surprise there) source, that he also has a very strange odour of....vinegar!
